From November 15th to November 18th, Frankfurt turned into the global capital of industrial printing. An exclusive opportunity for 4D Pioneers to reveal its latest innovations. Here are the highlights of this week spent in Germany.
This 2022 edition of Formnext felt very special. After 2 years of global turmoil due to the accumulation of the coronavirus crisis, the war in Ukraine and climate disasters, the pressure on industrials has never been so high. Supply chains are challenged on every aspects : economic, political and environmental. In this context, additive manufacturing appears as a breakthrough solution to decentralize manufacturing processes and production, bringing agility and resilience at the forefront.
The additive manufacturing community joined forces to showcase a bright future for the industry. A few key figures to reveal the growing impact of Formnext this year :
| 2022 | 2021 | % growth |
Number of exhibitors | 802 | 606 | +32% |
Number of visitors | 29581 | 17859 | +65% |
Nationalities represented | 96 | 76 | +26% |
Size (m2) | 51148 | 30000 | +70% |
These figures reveal how much of a global scale Formnext has taken.
France was Formnext's partner country in 2022. A tribute to the booming additive manufacturing scene in the country that reunites both suppliers and users. 40 different French actors were represented.
Among the many frenchies around, 4D Pioneers appeared as a dynamic new entrant. During the 4 days of event, we had the opportunity to strengthen our bounds with existing partners such as Faiveley, SNCF and France Additive. Together we did a presentation on how Additive manufacturing is a powerful tool to revolutionize the rail supply chain.
But the big news coming from 4D Pioneers was the introduction of our latest innovation : the 4SHIFT printer. An end-to-end solution with hybrid capablities to manufacture complex, precise, functional and scalable parts in a wide range of materials. This revolutionary machine attracted more than 100 visitors to our booth, all mesmerized by the unique opportunities that could apply to their sector. 4SHIFT stood out as one of the most advanced innovation during the start-up presentations we had the chance to participate in.
Altogether, we are proud of our achievement on this first attendance of 4D Pioneers at Formnext. Yet, we also learnt a lot from the great brains out there who inspired us to pushing the limits of innovation. We know that it takes time and tremendous efforts to transform industries at a global scale but you can count on the Pioneers to speed up the process.
Formnext, we will see you next year!
